On the lookout for a new dog walk in Aberdeenshire? Well, you’re in luck. Fantastic routes and trails are a stone’s throw away from dog-friendly café at Castleton Farm.
Our café is a popular stop dog owners and we’re kept in the know of the best dog walks nearby. Whether it’s breakfast to kick off the day, a spot of lunch before an afternoon stroll or a much-needed caffeine boost after, our café is on hand for a delicious local feast.
“But what dog walks are near Castleton Farm?” we hear you cry – well, here’s some paw-fect locations to explore.
It would be rude not to visit the clifftop ruin of Dunnottar Castle – after all it is only a 15 minute drive from us. Revel in tales of powerful families, Viking invasions and mighty sieges, it’s quite the spectacle. There’s a coastal path which you can follow down to Stonehaven to walk its harbour and beachfront.
Wander deep into the enchanting woodlands of Drumtochty Forest and choose from four marked trails. There’s plenty of sniffs and sticks to keep your dog entertained here.
The mysterious Dunnottar Woods is a history buffs treasure trove filled with many historical features. Once the stomping ground of the Kennedy family who lived in Dunnottar House, Lady Kennedy’s Bath, the Shell House and an ice house are still here to investigate.
Inverbervie to Gourdon
If you’re on the lookout for a long dog walk to tire out your pooch, the Inverbervie to Gourdon coastal path could be just the ticket. Just under 10km each way, you’ll definitely need a coffee and cake from our café to recharge after.
St Cyrus beach
No matter the time of year, rain or shine, St Cyrus Beach is always stunning. Dressed with dramatic cliffs, expansive sands and a diverse nature reserve, there’s plenty to take in.
When is Castleton Farm café open?
We’re open Monday to Saturday 9am-5pm and on Sunday we open at 10am and close at 5pm.
