A tasty welcome for the Global Agritourism Conference

On June 11, 2026

We are proud to be playing a part in the upcoming Global Agritourism Conference.

Taking place from 23-25 June at P&J Live in Aberdeen, this massive event is bringing together delegates from over 50 countries, and Castleton Farm is right at the heart of it.

During the event, we will throw open our gates to welcome international visitors for a behind-the-scenes tour. Delegates will walk through our fields because they want to see exactly how our juicy strawberries, raspberries and blueberries grow. Visitors will also learn how we successfully combine deep-rooted farming traditions with innovative, sustainable growing techniques.

However, the Castleton experience does not stop at the farm gate. Our commitment to producing the finest food means our berries are also taking centre stage on the conference menu. Therefore, our fresh fruit will be served to global visitors in a spectacular dessert at the prestigious gala dinner alongside produce from 20 other Scottish farms.

This landmark event marks the inaugural conference for the Global Agritourism Network, which officially formed in 2024. And for 2026, the annual Scottish Agritourism Conference is being integrated into this international gathering.

Being chosen as the focal destination is a huge win for Scotland, putting our rural economy directly in the spotlight. Anticipating around 1,000 delegates, the conference will showcase the incredible diversity and rapid growth of the global sector through data, cutting-edge research, policy discussions and powerful personal stories.

Our very own Anna Mitchell, who owns the farm alongside her husband Ross, is incredibly passionate about this movement. As a dedicated ambassador for Scottish agritourism, Anna works tirelessly to show how sustainable tourism can be a powerful force for good, benefiting both local communities and family farms.

“Welcoming the world to Castleton is an incredible honour,” said Anna.

“For us, it is all about the connection between the land and the plate. We love sharing our passion for innovative farming, and seeing our own hand-picked berries featured on a global menu at P&J Live is the ultimate celebration of everything we do.”
